About Ruscin's Service Center
Rick Ruscin grew up in southern Florida. He worked at his father's Shell service station since he was nine years old. At first, he was only allowed to sweep and clean. Within a few years, he was pumping gas, checking oil and washing windshields. After a few more years he was working in the garage, which was something he thoroughly enjoyed. He became ASE certified at 24 years old.
In 1985, he moved to Ohio and went to work for a major automotive repair chain as an automotive technician. At this time, he became ASE Master Certified. Within a year, he was promoted to Assistant Manager. About a year later, he was promoted to Manager and opened a new location in Hamilton, Ohio. (It was during this time that he met and married Phyllis.) He ran this location for five years before being promoted to a bigger location in the Dayton Mall area.
Tragically, in 1994 Rick's father was diagnosed with brain cancer. He passed away at the young age of 65. Shortly after his father's death, Rick developed a strong desire to purchase a Shell service station. He was directed to Cecil Northern, who owned Northern's Shell which is currently Ruscin's Service Center.
Rick and Phyllis have been working as partners at Ruscin's Service Center since 1997. They are proud to have a family run operation and pride themselves on offering superior customer service. Rick and Phyllis say, "We think people miss the old fashioned service that they used to get at service stations." And at Ruscin's, that's just what you get.
