Automotive Services

At Ruscin's Service Center, we provide complete car and light truck services. Whether it is a simple oil change or major engine repairs, we work on your car with the same attention to detail and commitment to quality. Cooling System Inspection

• Visual Inspection of belts/hoses/radiators and water pump.
• Inspect coolant level and condition.
• Pressure test system including radiator cap.
• Tighten hose clamps as needed.
• Check fan operation if applicable.
• Recheck system after repairs to ensure no other leaks are present.
• Block testing done on overheats.

Cooling System Flush

• Flush cooling system.
• Install correct coolant mixture to 50/50.
• Insure proper pH balance.

Transmission Flush

• Recommended every 30,000 miles.
• Add flushing cleaner to transmission, allow to circulate.
• Attach flushing machine and flush all transmission components.
• Replace all transmission fluid
• Add transmission conditioner.
• Check for leaks.
• Road test vehicle when service is completed.

Electrical System Inspection

• Inspect cables for corrosion and condition.
• Load test battery.
• Check output of alternator. (Voltage, as well as amperage output.)
• Inspect alternator belt for condition and tension.
• Perform starter draw test. (Voltage and amperage draw.)
• Check for drain on system.

Air Conditioning System

• Visual inspection noting any signs of leakage.
• If no visual leakage is found, add 1 lb. of R12 or R134a and test with leak detector.
• Check compressor operation and pressures (high and low).
• Verify electric fan operation when applicable.
• Check A/C belt (condition and tension).
• Check for leaks after any major work is done.

Brake Inspection

• Road test vehicle prior to inspection (unless safety is an issue).
• Remove all four wheels for inspection.
• Inspect the following:
• Brake pads and shoes.
• Master cylinder (level, condition, leakage).
• Brake hoses and lines.
• Measure all rotors and drums.
• Inspect calipers and slides.
• Inspect parking brake cables for freeze up or fraying.
• Inspect bleeder screws for freeze up (or broken if hydraulic system is to be opened.)

Brake Service

• Remove and replace pads or shoes, resurface or replace rotors and/or drums and lube slide and/or backing plates.
• Road test vehicle when service is completed.

Maintenance, Replace Spark Plugs

• Road test prior to service.
• Replace spark plugs.
• Perform visual inspection of secondary ignition system.

Wheel Alignment

• Test-drive the vehicle prior to pulling car in - confirm any problems, both with alignment and otherwise.
• Check/air tires as needed.
• Tires are inspected for wear.
• Inspect steering and suspension. Tie rod ends, ball joints, steering racks, idler arms, sway bar links, etc. are inspected for wear.
• Computerized alignment performed.
